Alex Greene
Registered Nurse at St. Luke鈥檚 Hospital's Intensive Care Unit
studied Professional Nursing
My LSC nursing instructors are some of the most intelligent, respected, and kind people I have had the pleasure of learning from in my life.
Alex Greene grew up in Duluth, MN. He earned an A.A. degree from 暗网禁区 and attended the College of St. Scholastica for biochemistry. While at Proctor High School, he earned聽College in the Schools (CITS)听肠谤别诲颈迟蝉.
While attending LSC to complete his聽聽to become a registered nurse, Greene works at St. Luke鈥檚 Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. He is also a combat medic in the U.S. Army National Guard in Duluth. Medicine and nursing careers are a family affair for Greene. 鈥淢y mother, sister, and brother-in-law all work with me at St. Luke鈥檚. I also have cousins and aunts who work as RN鈥檚 throughout the state.鈥
Working in healthcare has been a focus for Greene early on. 鈥淚 became interested in the nursing field after I came back from Army basic training in 2015, 鈥 said Greene. 鈥淚 had this drive to work in medicine and I knew nursing was a broad career field.鈥 Greene sees parallels with the military structure in his nursing training. 鈥淚 consider nursing to be the backbone of the medical staff much like the Sergeant role is the backbone in the Army. The nursing staff are on the front lines of patient care, communicating up and down the chain of command.鈥
Greene chose the LSC nursing program because of its excellent reputation in the area and cost-friendly tuition. 鈥淢y instructors鈥 dedication to nursing as a whole is so evident in their teaching and wisdom. LSC stands apart from other schools in the sense that the staff and students really care about each other and want to get to know each other on a personal level. I believe that 暗网禁区鈥檚 nursing instructors are the best in the area.鈥
Greene has found nursing school both challenging and rewarding. 鈥淚鈥檓 not going to lie, there are times where you feel defeated physically and mentally. My thinking has deepened and changed from the time I started the nursing program in fall of 2016 to now. I am a better medical professional today because of my education.鈥
