°µÍø½ûÇø Foundation to award over $30,000 in Workforce Development Scholarships
At least twelve $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in high-demand career programs

The °µÍø½ûÇø Foundation is pleased to announce that another round of Workforce Development Scholarships is now available. Eligible students can apply for one of at least twelve $2,500 scholarships which will be applied to fall semester 2020. These scholarships were made possible by a $7 million appropriation from the Legislature after a successful pilot program stemming from the 2017 legislative session that initially awarded $1 million in scholarships in the 2018-2019 academic year. The scholarships are for students pursuing careers within advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care services, information technology, early childhood education, and transportation at any of the 30 state colleges of Minnesota State, including °µÍø½ûÇø.

Eligibility

  • Students must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a high-demand occupation within an eligible program as outlined by the State of Minnesota (listed above)
  • Student must be enrolled in at least 9 credits per term; maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher, and must be a Minnesota resident
  • Annual award typically broken down into two payments of $1,250 per semester, for two semesters. Eligible returning students may reapply and receive continued funding up to $7,500 maximum, over three years
  • Preference for students in financial need, that demonstrate how, if awarded, this scholarship would help support their educational and career goals
